Everything You Need To Know

Ladakhi apricots are small, sun-dried stone fruits grown at altitudes above 3,000 metres in the pristine valleys of Ladakh. Unlike commercially dried apricots, these are naturally sundried without sulphur dioxide or preservatives, giving them a deep amber colour and concentrated sweetness. They have been a staple of Ladakhi cuisine and traditional medicine for centuries, prized for their rich flavour and dense nutritional profile.
Our apricots are sourced directly from small family farms in the Nubra Valley and Kargil district of Ladakh. Harvested once a year between July and August at peak ripeness, each fruit is hand-picked and laid out on rooftops to dry naturally under the high-altitude Ladakhi sun. Our farming partners have cultivated these orchards for generations using traditional organic methods — no pesticides, no chemicals, just pure mountain air and glacial water.

Soak 5-6 apricots overnight in water and deseed the next morning. Use in sauces, desserts, chutneys, and traditional Ladakhi dishes. Can also be eaten as a snack directly — pairs beautifully with yoghurt, oatmeal, granola, and baked goods. Try blending soaked apricots into smoothies or adding them to your morning porridge for a natural sweetness boost.
